A Sketchbook, Some Uncertainty, and a Surprising Return

Quick Reads, Tools & Creative Practice

A bit unsure—but quietly ready.

Up the steep stairs.

I paused. Through the open door, a seat. Waiting for me.

As I carefully placed my sketchbook and tools on the table in front of me, familiar words filled the room.

Primary and secondary colours.

Basics: yellow, red, blue.

Complements: orange, violet, green.

Subtle.

Essential.

Especially for shadows.

As the afternoon unfolded, my sketchbook pages began to change.

Colours blended with intention.

Shapes loosened.

Shadows emerged.

Layering.

Listening.

Letting go.

Acrylics, years before.

Ink and watercolour, now.

New, but familiar.

Nothing wasted.

Still there.

Waiting.

Mission

Welcome to a Quiet Place
A quiet refuge for those who linger.

I’m Adri. I create hand-drawn place portraits, fine art photography, and words that invite you to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your story.

My mission is to offer beauty as balm, hold space for reflection, and gently reawaken what feels lost.

With a background in creative roles, art has always been my anchor — a way to restore calm and balance — and in recent years, I’ve leaned into it more fully than ever.

If this feels like home, linger a while. Explore the blog, or simply breathe in the calm.
