Still Life, Nature & Visual Poetry

About the Artist

Adri is a Canadian fine art photographer whose work brings together painterly composition, minimal abstraction, and a quiet emotional presence. Raised between Belgium, the Netherlands, and Canada, her aesthetic is shaped by both classical structure and the subtle, poetic textures of everyday life.

Her journey into photography began as a personal ritual during a season of caregiving and grief. Seeking beauty in the ordinary, she turned to her garden — and found a visual language that others describe as serene, immersive, and quietly powerful.

Today, Adri’s lens continues to return to the same botanical forms, drawn to the way they transform with time and light. Much like Monet’s lifelong study of his garden, Adri’s repeated engagement with familiar subjects is not about sameness, but deepening. A way of seeing more.

Images that offer rest, reflection, and beauty.

Welcome to my fine art photography work inspired by slow mornings, soft light, and the moments that asked me to pause. I photograph intuitively — drawn by mood, memory, and whatever the season is offering. Each image is a quiet invitation: to notice more, breathe deeper, and find stillness tucked into the everyday.

My Creative Process

Where It Begins

My photographs often begin in the quiet — a pause, a flicker of light, the way a stem leans toward shadow. I move slowly, led more by feeling than by plan, noticing what’s already whispering. A curl of a petal, a softness in the colour of stone, a moment that asks nothing and offers everything.

Listening Through the Lens

I don’t aim to capture or explain. Instead, I listen with my lens — to stillness, to subtle shifts, to something just beneath the surface. Composition happens intuitively. It’s less about control and more about trust: in the frame, in the feeling, in what wants to be seen.

Shaping the Image

Later, I spend time with each image — shaping tone and texture until it holds what I felt in that moment. Many of my pieces are close, quiet, sometimes abstract — invitations to pause, to soften, to see a little differently.

A Practice Rooted in Change

This practice took root during a season of deep change. I returned to photography not as a project, but as a way to find ground again. Over time, others began to respond — to the calm, the clarity, the space. And so I kept going.

Each piece is part of a conversation — with the natural world, with beauty, with the quiet resilience we all carry.
